I don't normally comment on grammar, unless on my own blog, or when people specifically ask for it, but pretty sure it should be alternative (that is as a substitute or a different use of the container) unless you plan to alternate between using the container for pills and then lenses and then pills (go back and forth).
Please feel free to comment on my grammar and spelling. I appreciate being corrected, but I learnt the hard way that not everyone appreciates having their grammar and spelling corrected consistently!!
