Hommus covers a multitude of raw vegetables.
I've discovered that raw broccoli tastes OK, and it's apparently one of the most nutritional veggies. And I find that I have to be quite diligent to eat 5 serves of veggies a day. Everything else almost eats itself, I have no difficulties eating fruit, meat and carbs, but I need to force the veggies down. Hommus means that I can snack on them. It's like peanut butter, but garlicy. Mmmm.

I find that I can eat loads of vegies if I:
ReplyDelete- slice 'em up and grill them in the oven. I do it to everything: eggplant, squash, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, capsicum, carrots, zucchini, brussels sprouts. They taste so yummy and are more braces-friendly.
- chop 'em up into tiny pieces, steam them, and mix it in my meals.
And tabbouleh is my new favourite salad. It is so delicious!
Oh yeah, and I add some packet liquid gravy to vegies sometimes. Just for a different flavour.
ReplyDeleteAlso, whizzing them up into soups is another great way of keeping your vegies intake up.
And buying the best tasting vegies (even if they're a bit more expensive) really helps because you enjoy them more. I'm so against watery, firm, supermarket tomatoes.
Oh man I love vegies!
