Single Girl Ghetto.

I went to a wedding on the weekend—a very rare event for me. I haven't been to many weddings at all, and I think it is because none of my friends ever get married. I live in a Single Girl Ghetto. Let's not be bitter about it, though—it's kind of great! I have lots of lovely friends to swap DVDs with, eat out with, exercise with, go on holidays with, watch movies with—I'm very blessed.

When we are all old and still unmarried, without grandchildren to care for us, someone suggested we all move in to one big house, get a live-in nurse, and swap crochet patterns and go for walks together.

  1. Your retirement plans sound grand! If most unfortunately find myself a widow then, can I join?

  2. I think that someone was me! Because I remember discussing it with my Summer School household. We'd get a room each, but come out and watch tv together :P And get someone to cook our meals and clean for us. Or we could get Meals on Wheels.

It's almost something fun to look forward to :)

  4. haha, I think you've just put the finger on why I have found it rather difficult for joel get to know my friends. He is an outsider in the ghetto feeling like he will get pop'd, as I am inviting a member of a rival gang into our midst. It's a bit sad cuz it would be great for him to get to know you chickas

  5. I'm in. Shall I just start looking for a house now? I'm closer to needing the live-in nurse than you. (Although I will never want to swap crochet patterns. Crochet makes me crotchety.)
