Have you ever had Bircher muesli? It's basically oats or muesli soaked in apple juice overnight, and then mixed with dried fruit, fresh fruit and nuts in the morning.
My current favourite breakfast is soaking muesli with just enough water to cover it, overnight, and then eating it in the morning with a big dollop of organic, natural yoghurt. Yum! I like how the dried fruit plumps up. Not so great if you like crunch.

LOVE Bircher muesli. So much cheaper to make it yourself. I soak mine in apple juice & have it with grated apple & strawberries. My current favourite brand of Bircher is 'Whisk & Pin'.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good idea for ppl with no fridge, milk-free and juice-free bircher, except for the yoghurt I suppose. Elsie, do you buy expensive meuslie or cheap? Sometimes esp brands are TOO fruity for me.
ReplyDeleteI was given half of box of Table of Plenty, so I ate that for a little while. It was nice! Now eating Coles' Apricot and Almond brand. I might see if there's an organic brand out there--gonna jump on the organic bandwagon. Or eat it at least :P
ReplyDeleteTable of Plenty is my fave fancy brand. I support it. I still pad it out with rolled oats tho!
ReplyDeleteI like Table of Plenty too. Whisk & Pin is not too fruity & has figs - fancy! :)
